Function
As a Connectivity Design Engineer, you will design, realise, and to a limited extent manage the infrastructure cabling of the machine. In this job it is important to have strong communication skills since you are operating in a multidisciplinary team. You will manage the electrical interfaces between the modules and implement engineering changes into the products. Besides this you will be responsible for:
- Designing and documenting various electrical layout infrastructure parts that meet the international standards on electrical safety and EMC
- Participating in realisation of the infrastructure like cable harness, connection panels, electronic racks & cabinets, electronic cooling and mains distribution
- Investigating and solving issues on the infrastructure connectivity
- Implementing infrastructure products in elektro-mechanical designs
Requirements
As a Connectivity Design Engineer you hold a Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Besides this you have minimally 2 years of working experience in electrical system design. Knowledge of electronics/cabling/mains/safety/diagnosis/electronics cooling, will help you in this job. Besides this, you recognize yourself in the following requirements:
- Knowledge of electrical connection methods, AC mains power and DC power distribution and signal transmission
- Knowledge on EMC and electrical safety standards (IEC) and US standards (NFPA, UL)
- Knowledge on analogue and digital circuits and power electronics
- Ability to set up cabling concepts
- Highly motivated team player with excellent social and communication skills
