Introduction

Function
You will be working on a high-tech machine project at the Electrical department where you will be working together with the electronics architect and with designers of all disciplines (electronics, software, mechanics and mechatronics). You will work in a professional way in an informal environment where you will work together on a combination of product development and product realization.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for questions related to FPGA and you will be responsible for defining and realizing new VHDL firmware designs and for the modification of existing firmware, including the hard- and software interface of the machine. Additionally, you will be responsible for:
- Implementing and simulating VHDL code
- Testing the firmware in test setups and in the machine module
- Specifying and documenting requirements
Requirements
As a FPGA Designer you are an analytical team player who is pro-active and has good communication skills in English and preferably in Dutch. You know how to set priorities and have good time management. Furthermore you have:
- A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 2 years of industrial experience in VHDL for FPGA design (VHDL RTL, synthesis, compilation and time closure)
- Affinity to discuss and work with hard- and software engineers on a technical level
- Affinity with mechatronics/control systems is a plus
