Function
As an SMD Operator you are responsible for applying components to printed circuit boards using an SMD machine. You ensure that the SMD production line runs as optimally as possible, you execute these orders on the basis of drawings and instruction lists and you adjust the machines and components accordingly. You find it a challenge to deliver the right quantity and quality of SMD-coated printed circuit boards within the set production schedule. You are involved in the preparation, implementation and other activities to ensure that the production process runs as optimally as possible. For example, you are responsible for manually assembling small series, performing maintenance work and cleaning the machines and workplace. You are used to working according to work instructions, regulations and drawings and you are able to determine the work sequence yourself and take into account specified end dates of production. As an SMD Operator you have contact with planners, process engineers and manufacturing engineers and you report directly to one of the two team leaders of the SMMA department.
Your work also includes:
- Checking and assessing orders for completeness and taking actions on deviations
- Loading the carts with the correct components, based on the production folder
- Programming, setting and operating the machines
- Troubleshooting on the SMD production line
- Refilling feeders during production
- Repairing identified assembly errors and, if possible, making a correction to the process
Requirements
What do we ask of you as an SMD Operator?
As an SMD Operator you are meticulous and able to work in an environment where accuracy is of great importance. You know better than anyone how to maintain contact with operators and engineers about the production process. You are driven, enthusiastic, independent, easily show your own initiative and are passionate about your field.
We also ask:
- A completed technical vocational education in the direction of, for example, electronics
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a technical production environment
- Experience with an SMD production line is an advantage, not a must
- Experience with reading technical drawings and work instructions;
- willingness to work structurally in a three-shift roster;
- full time available;
